 MAY THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE……..

A birthday wish that came in belated, but stayed on my mind to come back every morning …

I was thinking.  Adventures?  Yes, life has been an adventure, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. 

Born a thin girl with large expressive eyes, that were amazed at everything around, always questioning and debating on every simple process that was accepted by normal people (Mom said I would become a lawyer!). My eyes saw things differently, I think that’s how the ADVENTURE began.

Skipping on from a not so pretty, thin girl to a confident, beautiful girl in college (confirmed by the boys chasing) to this confident woman in her fifties (still chased!).

An adventure it has been, that will continue till there is air in my lungs. Every journey taken has my heart and soul in it. Some unconventional ones, many might not understand. (Not that it mattered). Many started late but started and finished well.  Many more to be taken. Let me assure you each one is special and lead by the heart.  The head was rarely involved when the decision was taken. (Only used to navigate through) Just followed my heart.  Many may not agree to this kind of decision-making, but anything otherwise wouldn’t be me.  I am my heart.

I got a “Te amo” tattoo recently and was asked “How do you get this courage? Courage? Yes, it takes a lot of courage to say that! And believe me, it comes from the heart.  It takes a lot of courage to love.  Now or at 18,25, 40,50 whatever. It’s the same at any age. The happiness and the pain are all in there just as it is. Age no bar!

We have to find this courage to love and to accept the love that comes our way. This also takes a lot of courage.  It’s a partnership. With whoever is the other person.  Today, with so much out in the media, we seem to only confirm to the societal standards of love and its expression.  Anything different is not accepted (why do we need acceptance in the first place?)

A hug and a simple wish are equally love, as is a surprise party with a lot of gifts. Are you ok? Drive safe, call me when you reach there. Is also, love. (Some call it an invasion of private space, and being in my face!) It’s the thought that matters. On the same plane, love can be varied.  Why a stereotype?  Man -women, boy- girl. why can’t we say ‘I love you” to our friends, our family? Is that not love? Are relationships not based on this not so simple word LOVE? It takes courage to show love.  That’s the point.  We need to be more courageous, to be a bit vulnerable with the people who matter and trust them with this feeling.  This is the adventure that you need to be on. With your heart and soul in it.

Be in love with all that you go through in life. People, relationships, journeys anything and everything.   Believe in the process and it will turn out fine.  Even if it doesn’t turn up as you hoped it would, it would be an adventure you enjoyed because your heart was in it.

To all the people to whom I said I LOVE YOU.  I meant it.  It stays that way unchanging with the times and situations that I pass through. Unconditional.  Yes, I have the courage to be on this adventure with you and I hope you find the courage to accept it.
