HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY.........A TRIBUTE.
HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY! 🤩🤩 A TRIBUTE.
As I sat on
that chair in the restaurant and looked at the ‘Poori Bhaji’ on my table, my
eyes fell on the empty chair across the table. My eyes stung with tears waiting for
permission to flow. I missed a friend (Meeting
friends is a luxury now!). I instinctively glanced at my mobile hoping to see that ‘Cheers’ or a smiley that always put a sparkle in my
smile.
Some people
have that effect on you. These are the
special people whom you meet just by fate.
They come into your life out of nowhere and bring that different YOU to
life. These are friends that bring out
that special YOU that even you were unaware of.
Their energy is infectious. They bring out the best in you. This brings me to the topic of ‘ Friendship’.
We will soon
be celebrating ‘Friendship day’. How many are we left with, to celebrate?
The year
that passed (COVID YEAR) questioned many a relationship of the past. Many longstanding friendships broke down due
to the stress of the covid situation and the challenges that came with
it. Many could not survive it. I will
say, they could not stand the test of time. Sad, but that is the truth. On the
flip side, we found many out of the blue kinds. Those, which we had not looked
at or overlooked. These friends were there for us. In thoughts, words, or deeds. They were there when we needed to talk, they had us in their prayers and some could be with us physically when we stood alone in despair
bearing the wrath of covid. I am sure
each one of us found one such friend, if not a handful of them (Lucky you!).
These times
have been sort of a blessing in disguise.
They took the veil off a lot of things. Now, we all stand bare and
real. Only the truth . What is real
and lasting remains. We are now able to distinguish between need and luxury.
Not only in material terms but also in relationships.
Today, On the eve of friendship day, I want to thank that friend who brought out the real
me, that friend who prayed for me( I could feel it), and those friends who have
been with me in thoughts, words, and deeds. You made my covid year bearable.
Without you, I would not have made it this far with grace. I am also
thankful to this covid year for weeding out unwanted relationships and helping
me in decluttering my life.
To all my
different kinds of ‘FRIENDS’. A big ‘Thank
you ‘for being a part of my life. I cherish each one of you and am grateful to
the Lord for bringing you into my life.
I love you all!
Happy
Friendship Day!🤗🤩Bless u!😇
Bless you too dear. We have had good times together hope we'll meet up soon. Cheers to our friendship. 😍

ReplyDeleteHappy friendship day dear True and long lasting friends are like rare and precious gems. I am lucky to have you as my friend. In todays world we have a big contact list who keep on posting their comments but it is very difficult to find a true friend who will understand and stand by us in all good and bad times.

Suja !! Your narration of Friends on Friendship Day, touches the age old proverb, we are all social animals. You have rightly explained the need of Friends & in their absence, it's like a living without eyes.

Beautifuly said, in my opinion friendship is the only relationship, or rather a Beautiful feeling that is nither defined or restricted by blood, caste, creed or colour but happens when one is willing to accept the person that he/ she is, with all the goods and including the defects. You don't judge, rather you are with them whenever needed and possible, you nourish when required and cherish what ever comes from it. Throughout our journey we come across many of these, some from family and and some who become family... and you sure are one such precious gewl and family...Happy friendship day dear.
ReplyDeleteBlessed too u dear…very well written Suja….Happy friend ship day dear😊😊

ReplyDeleteHappy Friendship Day
ReplyDeleteFriendship is not collection of people. But it is selection of hearts. We need to put all efforts to hold them for life time.
The pandemic has disrupted many aspects of our lives, but it has not and cannot prevent us from communicating love to one another. It May actually be providing us the opportunity and the motivation to let love abound all the more. What is certain above all else in this time when so much is uncertain is that "nothing can separate us from God's love".

ReplyDeleteTruely written and love the way u described it's the true friendship which is ever lasting and long live in loved and sorry for late comments
So true, Covid literally showed the line between who stood by you in your toughest times and who didn't. For a couple of my friends, when they got infected, they got the shock of their life when people started reacting differently or rudely and all. The base of friendship is humanity after all, or for that matter, it's the base of any relationship. How can we let go of that! Happy Friendship Day Sujadi!!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late comments Suja. Happy friendship day to you too. Real friends never turn their back with your situation. Only true friends will be there with you even if you are in disguise. So always cherish your friends. I am lucky to have you as my friend. Thanks. 😘
